Our Retreats

The STIR Retreat Experience

Our retreats are a space of respite, reflection, and renewal for individuals on a journey of recovery. Grounded in spiritual companionship and inspired by Ignatian tradition, STIR Retreats offer healing experiences that nurture hope, dignity, and belonging.

What We Offer

Our retreats create a space for spiritual connection in a gentle, judgment-free setting, as a step toward healing, stability, and the recovery of one’s whole self. The STIR Retreat offers retreatants the opportunity to recognize their inherent dignity, deepen their sense of belonging, and take meaningful steps toward a hopeful tomorrow.

The STIR Retreat experience is available at no cost to participants.

We welcome and serve individuals of all backgrounds and beliefs who meet our requirements.

Who We Serve

Our retreats are designed to support individuals in the early stages of sobriety (3 months – 1 year), who have faced homelessness or precarious living situations. Participants are primarily referred through transitional housing programs, sober living facilities, 12-step programs, and addiction counseling services. These partnerships ensure that we reach those who can benefit most from the retreat experience, offering them the spiritual tools needed to enhance their recovery, moving them from abstinence to sobriety.

How it Works

STIR Retreats offers a safe, supportive space, inviting participants to reconnect with the Higher Power of their own understanding. Rooted in Ignatian spirituality, each weekend follows a structured yet gentle format of reflection, rest, and connection. Our volunteer facilitators fully participate in the retreat, modelling vulnerability, compassionate accompaniment and mutual encounter.  Through sharing their personal story and engaging in attentive listening, participants experience spiritual renewal and a restored connection with the God of their understanding.
